Defending the Scandinavian

What is the best line for white in the Scandinavian? I have recently switched to playing 1.e4, and I'm happy with my anti-sicillian and my anti french, but I get frazzled by the Scandinavian.

Thanks!

Think really natural looking developing moves.

Seriously the mainline for white is so natural looking in the Scandanavian that it's hardly even book.

Something like this, or similar.

Thanks! That's pretty much what I've been doing, it just feels foriegn. I guess I'll get used to it.

The scandinavian is nothing to worry about as white gets slightly more development and a better center for a safe advantage but on the down side it's solid and hard to breakthrough sometimes but I feel white has the initiative the whole time.

instead of 3... Qa5 a lot better for black is 3... Qc6

btw it is really easy to play against scandinavian

Yes, after 3. ..Qc6 4. Bb5? e5!! black has a winning advantage.

Yes, everyone knows that in the Scandinavian, bishops are worth twice as much as queens.

Don't worry about the Scandinavian. White generally gets the advantage against it.

By the way, the few times I played Scandinavian I noticed that instead of 2... Qxd5 I much prefer Nf6, in which case white should play 3. d4 and start developing as normal after 3... Nxd5.

You should all read "The Scandinavian for Idiots" (Not a real book) All lines described are terrible.

Kupov: Nc6 is NEVER to be played in the Qa5 lines
Elubas: White has no initiative. Such things are later decided.

skpula: I'm not even going to bother....

Here are some PLAYABLE lines:

About two years ago I found in a greek chess magazine an article written by IM and WGM Yelena Dembo suggesting a really interesting line with white against the scandinavian. She fully analyzes 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nf3!? and I have had great winning success with this line.  In another article in the same magazine she analyzes positions after 2...Nf6 3.Nf3! and I have also had a great success in this line. It requires some theoritical knowledge, (which I certainly don't have...lolUndecided) but all the lines give white at least slightly better position.
