e4 opening

I consider pawn to e4 as my faviorate opening with the most options for my game. Does anyone have any reasons why there first opening would be better?

Well, actually there's isn't such a thing called "the Best Opening". It all depends on preference, and what kind of position you like. If you play e4, you must be prepared to play an open game, if you opponent plays e5 or d5 or even the Caro Kann, and perhaps a strategic game if you opponent plays the Sicilian. If you play d4, perhaps you prefer something quieter, especially if you play 2. Nf3!

Well, recently we heard about the game of checkers being solved and the winning first move being known. Until the game of chess is solved (please don't let it happen or there'll be no more point!), we should just choose what positions we prefer to play in- i.e. open or closed and then choose an opening that can suit your preferences! Hope this helps..

i haven't tried it yet but i like the catalan closed variation like this:

1.Nf3 is king in my mind. It's flexible, and black does not have as many good options against it as d4 or e4.

I play 1.e4 too so i am all ears (eyes?! o_o) on this one Puc_7.

That would depend on what board you're talking about. Competitive checkers is not on an 8x8 board.

I seem to remember reading that checkers on an 8x8 board was drawn...

It's funny that im getting comments on this now as to how i posted it about 8 months ago. My chess has improved greatly and I still seem to play 1 e4 on most occasions. Thanks for the comments everyone although very, very belated lol :-P
