Well, at any rate, you do not prefer 3 Nc3.
Indeed
Many people claim the Sicilian is a strong response to e4. However in my experience, one has to be a strong player to use it effectively.
True. I used to look for anti-Sicilians to use to throw my opponents, but eventually gave that up and went to the main-lines of the Open Sicilian. Most people who wield this weapon are no good and think that the opening alone will save them. A laughable idea.
1. d4 is clearly better! The reason is simple: there is no counter-attacking system as good as Sicilian. Though, sorry to inform U, but for players with tiny ratings (below Elo 3000) it doesn't matter.
*cough* The King's Indian Defense *cough*
Your coughing shows that the suggestion is rhetorical and U know very well that it's not as good as Sicilian. No kidding, KID is kinda cheesy, calling it a "counter-attack" would be an exaggeration.
You're just a 1.d4 fanboy with no skill.
The KID is a counterattack, as is the French, Caro-Kan and the Sicilian. Black either defends a symmetrical position (e4/e5 or d4/d5) or tries to counterattack the center.
"1.d4 is better, because the d4-pawn is defended, while the e4-pawn is not - it perishes quickly. The d4-pawn is more solid." - Bobby Fischer in retirement.
Well, at any rate, you do not prefer 3 Nc3.
