True. I used to look for anti-Sicilians to use to throw my opponents, but eventually gave that up and went to the main-lines of the Open Sicilian. Most people who wield this weapon are no good and think that the opening alone will save them. A laughable idea.
1.e4 1. d4 and 1. c4 all have different advantages. e4 frees the bishop, queen and a square for the knight. d4 controls both c5 and e5 and c4 controls the d5 square.

The KID is a counterattack, as is the French, Caro-Kan and the Sicilian. Black either defends a symmetrical position (e4/e5 or d4/d5) or tries to counterattack the center.

The e pawn doesn't perish quickly, unless you mean it trades quickly if black wants to.
I prefer D4 because thermonuclear corncobs
Play them both if your opponent lets you.
One leads to a slow game, the other doesn't.
e4. If it's good enough for Bobby Fischer it's good enough for me.
If supercomputers far above the best humans cant decide on one or the other as definitively better, it's safe to assume they are effectively the same.
