Free chess software to create opening books?

Hello!

I was wondering if there is free chess software to create and edit your own opening books? I would like to save some opening lines from ordinary paper books for faster access.

Do you know of such software?

You can use SCID - it is an open source chess databse.

Thanks!

I've also found a ChessPad 2 software http://www.wmlsoftware.com/chesspad.html

I'll try them both and find out which is better.

I haven't been recording opening variations, though I probably should keep a record to go over before a tournament, and I'll probably see if the database features in the free Lucas Chess (runs on Windows) are worthwhile:

Lucas chess can be downloaded here: http://www-lucaschess.rhcloud.com/index.html

@MickinMD

Thank you!  It seems that Lucas Chess is a pretty decent software for creating opening books!

I installed Lucas Chess and I cant find how to resize the board. I go to "Personal opening guide" and the board is so small and I cant find a resize option. Could you help me please?

I've found how to change the board size. The option is hidden and invisible. You have to right-click on the bottom of the board.
