French Vs Sicilian

If anyone wants to play Najdorf with me I’m trying to learn all the ins and outs currently trying to master the English attack.

@AustinL0926 - I would love to play out the 7. Qd2 line first.  Send out the challenge, let's start with this one.  Your analysis looks reasonable, but you haven't considered the specific continuation I'd be going for.

My opponent has gone on "vacation", as well.

Every other board is a huge clash and the Board 7 game I'm for my opponent to make his first move

That's how I felt for most of the last challenge.  The difference there was it was the guy who arranged the match who was stalling on me.

@Darkness_Destroyer - Please start your games with @2Kd21-0 by midnight tomorrow night.  If you haven't made a move by then, your spot on Team Sicilian will be considered vacant, and we'll fill it with someone else who is prepared to play.

I wouldn't be opposed, though I'm fascinated by @Darkness_Destroyer 's position at Board 7 in the first place. I'm assuming it's based purely on Daily rating?

Correct - Team Sicilian was set by Daily rating, since this is a correspondence match.

I did not know people could form teams, or is this something you only participate via Comms? 👀

His daily is only 1500 tho so if you need a spot for dark 🙃

Dsmith, whats your USCF? just so you know, I dont really calculate in daily games, my USCF is 1700

I'm about 1600 USCF, but it's mainly because I haven't had enough games with stronger players.  The best reference I have is a younger player in my club whose USCF rating was 1900 and rising (he played more tournaments) when last the club met, and I was still level with him at that time.

My studies during the pandemic have made me stronger, though by how much remains unknown.  I'll have a returning Expert (and former State Champion) to test myself against when the pandemic is over.  The Experts at the local monthly tournament venue had me on the scouting report before this (I had won there twice during the past two years, and they reacted with surprise whenever I changed openings, even if I'd never thrown the older opening against them), so I did not escape their notice.

The near term goal, after the pandemic is over, is to make Expert (2000).  I'm definitely not there yet, but Expert games don't even surprise me anymore, so I don't think it's that far off.

@AustinL0926 - Our side game is getting fun quickly.  Of course, it's the Dragon, so of course it would be fun.
