Interesting line! I wonder, since black is not behind in material or development at move 9, maybe he can decide he is happy enough with having forced white to move the king and play something quiet like 9...Bd7. Do you know if this move is playable? I guess 10.Nf3 is the only move for white, otherwise black takes the rook in much improved conditions.

your move certainly looks playable. you would be threatening nxe5 as well. i think qxh1 looks more interesting though your move is certainly playable.

can white get away with d3 forcing black to accept the rook. play nf3 after and still try to trap the queen. there all new lines to me too.

Yes, but what i like about Bd7 is how it goes against white plan. 9...Qxh1 is likely the very best move(and the most exciting), but white will have the complications that he wanted. With 9...Bd7 black forces white in a much quieter struggle while retaining prospect of an advantage. So from a practical points of view it's a move that (if it works) would keep me away from trying this line as white.

My original idea was 9...Bd7 10.Nf3 d4!?, which looks not very natural but leads in most lines to a queen exchange. I was attracted by this since my idea was merely to stop white from getting attacking chances. Also 10...O-O-O looks like a move.

But after looking at it more deeply 10...Bb4 looks like the most painful for white. Black harasses the queen while developing naturally. For example:

-11.Qb3 Bc5+ (now that the queen is not on the c file the bishop goes to a more active diagonal with tempo) 12.Kg2 Nd4 13.Bxd7+ Kxd7 and now what? white is more or less forced to exchange queens while losing a couple of pawns.

-11.Qd3 Qxd3 12.Bxe3 Nb4 looks like a very pleasant edge for black in a simple position.

-11.Qe3 Qxe3 12.Kxe3 Nxe5 snatches a pawn for zero compensation, with the queens off the board.

10.d3 looks unsound to me (but since Nf3 looks also bad it might be worth a try). There is no doubt that the inclusion of Bd7 and d3 over the mainline favours black. After 10...Qxh1 white is not going to get the same compensation he has after 9...Qxh1 because he can't trap black king in the centre anymore(since black meets Bxc6 with Bxc6). I frankly think that the position after 10.d3 Qxh1 11.Nf3 Bb4 or O-O-O is resignable for white.
