help me with the English opening

I played this game over the board on Saturday, but it was pretty much drawn until Black Blundered on move 43.

"English Opening" is a very broad category. There are many different ways to play the English, and also many ways to play against it.
I like to turn it into a Botvinnik... although this decision has to be made early in the opening or not at all, since in a Botvinnik the Knight does NOT belong on f3 (f6).
