Herrstrom Gambit 2...e4

1. Nf3 g5 2. NxP e5 (Attacking the Knight) 3. d4! (Protecting the Knight and challenging Black’s center control) 3...exd?! 4. QxP (activating the Queen; Black’s missing g-pawn is costing him a tempo. Kingside castling is basically impossible now, and few pieces are developed thus far. The f-pawn is isolated, and has no other pawns to stand with. Black’s compensation (or lack thereof) for the pawn is nonexistent, and he remains a pawn down for basically nothing.
Queens Gambit is as sound as sound can be. Some even argue that it isn’t truly a gambit, since the main accepted line guarantees that White will get his material back.
The Irish Gambit (or Chicago Gambit) is way worse than the Halloween Gambit. In the Irish Gambit, you sacrifice a Knight (2 material) just to kick Black’s knight around a couple times. 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Nxe5? NxN 4. d4 Nc6 5. d5 Nb8 6. Bd3 d6 7. O-O Nd7 (Black is completely winning). The compensation is not enough, and you will surely lose unless your opponent makes a HUGE blunder. Not a good way to start a chess game. The Halloween Gambit is dubious, and I’m sure it fails too. If Black defends properly, White ends up being down a piece, albeit with more compensation than in the Irish. It’s slightly difficult to defend the crucial f7 square as Black against the Halloween, but I’m sure that if Black has any idea what he’s doing, he’ll be able to hold the position, achieving a won game.
I’d throw all of these in the bin, with exception for the King’s Gambit and Queen’s Gambit. Those are decent, for most skill levels at least. The rest are garbage at best and rubbish at worst!
Is 1. Nf3 g4 2. Nxg4 e4 a good move for black? I think it is like Halloween Gambit but better. Please respond with your opinion on your favorite gambits. My favorites are Queens Gambit, Herrstrom, King's Gambit, Halloween Gambit, and Irish Gambit.
