Easy to refute. 2...e6 and then 3...Nc6 should do the job.
How to refute the Bowdler?
It's the Bowdler, it comes from a surname. I never heard anyone saying !Bowldler!.
2. ... e6. It's not as straightforward to prove superiority over a mainline Sicilian if white plays d4 later though, you also have to be wary of the white bishop getting a clear line on the h7 square. However with a little computer analysis looking at where you go wrong it gets pretty easy.
The only reason I could think of why someone might play it would be if they know that black always likes to fianchetto his/her kingside and therefore doesn't like playing e6.
