Hi everybody,

I recently played a game that started out Italian and then this happend:

Can anyone tell me what this line is called?
Is this good for black if white plays it right? In this game I thought it would turn out quite good for me (black), and indeed it did.

But any ideas or suggestions for this line?

It's the four knights game, and you're into a fringe line by move 6 so I wouldn't worry about it out to move 14. At any rate, I think in this line 12.Bb3 would be a clear improvement and wins material (the N on b2 is dominated -- he can try to save it but you end up winning at least two pawns I believe). But I'm sure there are improvements to be had earlier.

My question was mostly related to the black move 8 Nxe4. All looked quite classic until I used that move as a surprise and to try it out.

12.Bb3 I'd answer with Be6.

12...Be6? 13. Rb1 and I don't think the N can be saved. I think you'd need to play 12.b5.

^ after 12... b5 13 Bd5 Bd7 I would feel awkward as black. Why not 12... Nxc4 13 dxc4 e4 though?

This is a Four Knights, a common opening

Black has a huge advantage in this line.
