Stop giving away your pieces for free.

Well, when people face an opening they can't handle, mistakes happen.

well, keep at it!  but you know.  you could go the other way.  I play d4 as white and e6 (french) against e4.  I haven't seen either the "PATZER" opening or its cousin bishops opening in ages....

on the other hand, there's no doubt about it. you have to learn to accurately defend in chess- and if you hang peices you not going to routinely win.

good luck.

Is this what your proposing? I havent played this opening in years but unless theres some trick im not seeing i dont see how this is good at all.

2. ... Nf6 gives black a nice lead in development if white takes the pawn on e5.  But no I think 2. ... Nc6 is more reasonable.

1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 Nf6 3. Qxe5 Be7 4. Nc3

White just develops and make use of extra plan. What's black plan?

this is a good video on the Nf6 line but it's not free: http://www.chessvideos.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5912

It's actually what I play too which is another reason I don't remember the theory on the other line so well.

Thank you DarklingSalmon, I now see why 2.nf6 can be adventagous.

Being said the way the way op has been playing (2.nc6) is still fine and his main problem is giving away peices.

Hope this helps!

I would rather keep my e-pawn...

JackofAllHobbies, I think after the "patzer" played g4, d5! was the best move .

After exd5 you can play Bxg4 and white is ridiculously far behind in development.

Just looked up this opening in Game Explorer...

It's called Kings Pawn Game: Wayward Queen Opening...

2...Nf6 is called Kings Pawn Game: Wayward Queen Opening, Kiddie Countergambit...

2...nf6 is an attempt to refute this stupid qh5 move rather than respect it enough to dance with it. Black gets tremendous play for the pawn. If you cant handle gambitting pawns as black then you probably shouldnt play 1...e5. (many openings white could choose actually makes a gambit pretty necessary for black)

Which is why I don't play 1...e5.

Learn common ideas of chess and you will easily pass 1000 rating

Sorry for insulting you but, your main problem is that you have no idea of chess so you will get destroyed by any opening you play against...

Avatar of JohnCh15

Just a game of mine to give you some general ideas of how to play against this silly opening that no serious chess player would have played!

I have to disagree with it.. I am an 1...e5 player and I have never gambit any pawn..

so you have never played this?

1.)This is not a gambit because black will regain immidiately the pawn

and

2.)I have never played it because I don't play the four knight defence! I respond with Bc5 to the italian game!

1) false lol...prove it

2) its the 2 knights

2.) Don't try to troll me and see the main point that you can't prove how black is "forced" to gambit pawns in 1..e5

1.)

Not to mention that Na5 is not a necessary move and black can play Nxd5!!
