Just 9 games? Way too small of a sample size to make any determinations. Play a few hundred games and then take a look again at the results.
I score WAY better with the Black pieces

The fact that you do not know how to play openings somewhat eliminates the natural difference between playing White or Black. Also to be considered is you do not have enough games played to make a statisical difference.
Also, you make lots of mistakes so if you play White you may have a chance to make a mistake before Black does.
So I know that at my level openings are not to be a major portion of my study. I have only recently cobbled together a bare bones, mainline repertoire. Not very deep just enough to give me an idea to start the game.
And all is good except:
This summer (and actually throughout my OTB chess life) I am scoring WAY better with the Black pieces!
Below are the stats from this summer. Scid VS PC calculated the performance rating and averages.
2.1 Average ratings and performance: Me with the Black pieces
White rating: 1378 (9 games); White performance: 1177 (33% vs 1302)
Black rating: 1302 (9 games); Black performance: 1503 (67% vs 1378)
And now!
2.1 Average ratings and performance Me with the White pieces
White rating: 1306 (9 games); White performance: 1122 (22% vs 1342)
Black rating: 1342 (9 games); Black performance: 1526 (78% vs 1306)
I am scoring 22% with the White Pieces and 67% with the Black pieces.
Could it be my choice of openings? I don't mean are my openings as White are bad? They are all mainline!
I am just wondering if my "chess personality" (if that matters?) should lead me to switch to d4 or even c4 as White?
Thanks!
