Is the Kádas Opening any good?

When I was a lower rated player I used to play the Kádas Opening a lot. I stopped once I realized that you wanted to take control of the middle. Looking back, I'm wondering if the Kádas opening had any advantageous use at all; traps, positioning, etc.?

I might be late to the party and necro bumping but H4 isn't a bad opening for White, you can see what your opponent will play and then respond against it. Even a lot of GM players used the Kádas Opening, depending on what center piece your opponent plays you can change up your game plan.

"Giving" a piece to your opponent isn't even true. As long as you follow up with going for the center after H4 then you're golden on the opening.
