What you're hoping for is that black trades off his DSB for a knight. That's always a mistake in the french sicilian. It's a natural thing to do in this line and if it happens, you'll dominate the dark squares around his king. But if people resist that temptation and play something simple like this.. here you have nothing. There is not much of an attack coming... it looks bad:

You make good points and I somewhat agree with you. But results have shown that both lines are at least somewhat playable according to my database after 4...Qa5 white wins 43 percent of the time, thought black wins 57 percent of the time so you may be right. But also after 6...Be7 the computer says equal after 7 Bd2 guess the point was to get the queen to a5 where the bishop x-rays it and now the g8 knight cant move well if ...Knf6 then e5. But, you may be right.
I also don't like the smth morra. But Mark Esserman has proven its lethality

I take it back, it can be transposed into a smith morra. In that case it's just another SM.
Well that settles it. The Smith Morra sucks, we already know that.
The skill of a particular player playing a line does not prove very much about the line.

Thought there are some instances I play the smith morra
after 3...e5 black has many more weaknesses then a normal smith morra
and
i js played against the sicilian french variation 3 times and won all 3 games, here are the games
