KID and French Defense as black is a good repertoire?

I play the french defense as black against 1.e4, and now I'm trying to play the KID against 1.d4, Nf3 and c4, but I've seen players, including grandmasters, saying that the king's indian defense matches better with the Sicilian, And combining the King's Indian with the French is not so advisable.  I think this only applies to the high level right? thank you!

They literally don't know what they are talking about.

I advise all French players to take up the King's Indian Defense.  They are literally THE TWO OPENINGS that often lead to the blocked center.  Only difference is which direction the pawns point.  In the French, White attacks Kingside, Black Queenside.  Classical King's Indian?  Vice Versa!

Also, many GMs have often played that exact combination.  What do you think Wolfgang Uhlmann's main defense to d4 was?  What do you think Igor Glek's main defense to d4 was?

If you said the King's Indian Defense, you were right!

I always tell all French players to take up the King's Indian Defense!

Disregard what you have heard. As long as you feel comfortable in the positions you are getting, go for it.
