King's gambit style as white against French defense
Sort:
Hi guys, I want to play a King's gambit against the French defense. Its where I play f4 at some point and then Nf3 as white. Is there an opening name for this so I can study this system/style?
1-f4 not sure if good for win This opening almost ever is a even final whoever 1-e4 e5 2-f4 Something like shielman gambit is mush better
You might take a look at the Alapin (Diemer) Gambit (variation) or the Diemer-Duhm Gambit. Both involve f3 rather than f4 after sacking the e-pawn but the knight recaptures on f3 with the open f-file similar to some KG lines and the play is exciting gambit style. These lines aren't the soundest in the world. I usually run into a position where if Black plays h6 you sack a piece there and win, but Black doesn't have to play h6. That kind of thing.
