The game you are referring to was played before Fischer published his analysis of KG which seems to refute the knight line (3.Nf3). Bobby himself played the Bishop gambit with white and I am going to try that line against Ponz unless he decides to decline the gambit with 2...Bc5 or chooses 2...d5.
In chess engine championship (nTCEC) there were 2 games played with 1.e4 e5 2.f4 ef4 3.Nf3 in the superfinal - both won by black. However, I think that 3.Bc4 is a viable option and cannot be refuted so easily.
To be honest, I prefer the Ruy Lopez in my slow OTB games, but in blitz I find KG quite efficient.
Here, we are going to get closer to the truth about this opening because both the opponents will be assisted by engines and that prevents falling in tactical traps which work in human-only games.

Is the book by John Shaw? And 3.Bc4?! Nc6! There are many lines but Black has the upper hand. If you want to know more plz contact me.
Yes, I am going to play 2. f4 exf4 Right now I do not know what I will play after that.
I have no books on Kings Gambit and yes I ordered the book by Shaw.

Thank you much! This damn senile septuagenarian somehow got it into his head that there were 6 players.
So if there is one more player who meets or think he meets my strict qualifications please message me!
Also, if one of the 5 existing players wants to try 2 variations let me know also. Hope someone of the 5 will try 1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 and here try two different moves?

Nobody likes to try two different moves there because 3.Bc4 is strongly met by Nc6! so Nf3 is really the only third move :)
Will the players who have not started please challenge me to a unrated centaur game where you have White 3 days per move.
