king`s gambit BE7

Hi there,

I played the king`s gambit (accepted) as white.

In the 3rd move, black made BE7 in order to attack h4 (chess). Even If take the Bishop with my Knight, it won`t stop the attack since his queen  will take the night and then chess again.

So, my question is:

What should I play after BE7 ?

Thanks

Chess... just play chess.

3...Be7 is one of the most legit ways to counter the King's gambit. White usually vacates f1 for the king, and answers the check with Kf1.

But Black does not have to check on h4-factly, the modern treatment involves ...Nf6 without check, and rapid castling kingside.

It all depends upon how manly you feel: 4. Bc4 is a little safer, 4. d4 and 4. Nc3 a little wilder.

Here's one I played recently, on this site:

Spassky once said if you don't like a king on f1 then don't play the king's gambit.
