Kings Indian Defence and why anyone plays it?

Well, well... who just showed up?

The King's Indian is a fine opening, regardless of what a troll under his twelfth+ account is claiming. Just extremely complex, and high-maintenance.

Didn't know you had twelve accounts. But you certainly are f,cking ugly.

Now, idiots aside... people play the KID because greats like Kasparov, RJF, Bronstein ect. played such. But they were genius grade. Scoring wise... the results are fairly awful. Most top players avoid these days.

It’s probably better than 1 e4 b6

Lion_kingkiller

What about a4 then... Miles v Karpov, yes? Maybe that is best opening.

sndeww

Idk, but I know that miles played the st george’s Against Karpov

Lion_kingkiller

Did he? Well maybe that is best then.

I think we got a bit off track lol I am not a troll in any way, I was legitimately inquiring because of this data right here: https://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessopening?eco=e60

It does not seem as if its a good opening but Im sure someone can explain that a 38% draw rate is actually quite good.

While I love chess and the theory behind it, I still have only been playing for a year and there are complicated ideas that ?I have yet to grasp.

With that said, if we could take the rudeness out of the comments that would be awesome, as some of you have set a terrible example for the chess community. I, as a fairly new player, came to the forums to ask a question so that more experienced chess players could answer with their own ideas but instead I was immediately shown egotistical pompousness of the "Im better than you" chess snobbish attitude.

For those of you that have actually given useful responses, thanks a ton! Im still trying to figure this one out, but if youre going to respond just so you can flaunt your rating, please dont respond at all.

Lion_kingkiller

Well said braw.

Unfortunately, this is what you get here.  And what is even worse.  If someone does get reported, and get their account closed.  All they do is open another account, and pick up where their last account left off.  Pick out the few good things, and research that.  Block the ones that cause trouble, and move on.

Chess.com needs to learn to block IP addresses rather than specific accounts.  If you have siblings with different accounts in the same household, it is your job to keep your brother or sister in check, similar to the new law in Minneapolis.  If you see brutality by a workmate, you must do what you can to stop it.

Block IP addresses, not account names.  Problem solved!

KetoOn1963

Unfortunately, blocking whole sets of IPs doesn't work.  Homes, individuals, and the everyday person like you and me all have dynamic IP's.  Reboot your router, and BAM!  New IP.

Lion_kingkiller

Just because somebody say, correctly, that the KID does not score very well... IP address blocked, banned, demonized. If you can't handle debate... don't forum.

Well then, maybe signing up for chess.com needs to be more complicated and take longer to register.  To unlock your account, you must show proof of residency, like 555 West Main Street, Munich, Germany.

You get yourself banned and the only way you will be able to get another account is by moving because 555 West Main Street, Munich, Germany has now been banned.

If you are willing to go through the trouble to move just to reinstate your chess.com account, you go right ahead!

ChessChainlinks1

@ThrillerFan The site does block IP addresses. I know this from experience with this site. The ban may be permanent, or expire after a certain time.

ChessChainlinks1

@ThrillerFan Also, problem not solved. You can simply use a vpn service, an IP block is easy to get around. This site should start verifying accounts like the way Facebook does it.

ChessChainlinks1

@Anonymous_Devil Report him yourself. One report is sufficient. Are you stupid?

ChessChainlinks1

@Anonymous_Devil The number of reports have no bearing on it, and it makes no sense to post it here. You are an idiot.
