What are some good openings to play to put your e pawn on the fifth rank?  For both white and black please.

Putting your e-pawn on the fifth rank isn't always the best strategy to play for. I wouldn't recommend in trying to find these openings of putting your e pawn on the fifth rank.

Some defenses with an "advance" variation will have your e-pawn on e5. Caro-Kann and French Defenses that pawn push is not unusual. I play the CK as black and I see 3.e5 more often than not. Black playing e5 for first move is good that I probably should start using more often.
