Jmiachel, you are assuming that the opponent will play a mirror position in all of your diagrams. Do you really think that those positions will ever occur in a real game?

I don't believe that most players are well versed enough in the book lines of the symmetrical kingside shield variation of that defense/offence/system or whatever it is, so you probably won't see the formations that you put up there occur in the game. Ever. So in my humble opinion, I don't think that anyone has to admit that it will work.

Not to be rude but when you are rated as low as you are you don't know enough to start trying to push your own openings on people. I guarantee that once you get better if you stick with chess you will see how silly your idea is. Try learning basic opening principles and stick with those before you try getting into developed openings. Your rating will no doubt improve if you don't start out with a disadvantage in the first few turns. Have fun and stick with chess.

I could easily make this work against a beginner but

Against someone who is any good, this would be terrible.  Off the top of my head

There is no shield here, no castling either.  White's structure is bad and white is behind in development.  Black is simply winning here.

We can all humor you for a while, because, yeah, its nice to think you've come up with an opening all your own. But its crystal clear that you have a lot more to learn than the average person. Instead of presuming to teach the rest of us and ignore helpful advice, your game would improve if you'd listen and ask questions.

I would be more comfortable with certain lines of the Bongcloud than with this opening.

No one has to admit anything of the sort... it's on you to prove to the doubters that it works.

At any rate, as elsewhere, independent thinking and creativity are good things in chess.  Good luck with your kingside shield opening. I think you'll find that when you test it against moderately experienced opponents it will become an uncomfortable system.

You should ask yourself... "To what end have I fenced in one bishop, taken away my N's best development square, and castled into what will soon be a broken king side positon ?

I don't see any compensation for those negatives. If there is compensation -- by all means, show us.

why take on an e4 losing/drawing game where you can play the move 1. f4!!

If you really like these kind of formations, my advice would be to look at the stonewall, colle zukertort, etc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colle_System

You would have all kind of "shields" there, and you would have a solid opening.

Shields as you create them is unfortunately of no use. Wink

Black is easily superior here.
