London system advantage is it is solid and easy to play

but not very aggressive.

you are basically playing a reversed Baltic Defense but with the white pieces.

openings don't matter.  Carlsen could beat you with any opening

chess is 99% tactics and 1% combing your hair and brushing your teeth in the morning

the line above in the game is simply bad for white! Black gets the bishops pair, the better pawn structure and the better game. Of course he played very miserably afterwards... I bet that in the game neither black nor white saw the complete winning way for white at the end after... Bxh6, Rxh6 Kg7. Theres only one forced line which wins(you have to consider that whites queen is also threatened on c2).

The right way to play for white is to play h3 before e3 and even when he doesnt play h3 he should of course go to g5 after Nh5 and not simply offer the exchange.

i like playing f6 and Kf7 as black and can beat 1800 rated players

the opening really does not matter

steve_bute

I win almost all of my games when my opponent half-opens the h-file for me.

Till_98

@rowsweep: but only in Blitz or Bullet. In Otb chess the opening does matter a lot.

@Steve_bute: but this h file in the game above is irrelevant. Black simply played very badly in the game.

I typically play a sort of King's Indian formation against White's d4+Bf4 idea... and then try to transpose into a formation similar to the Ruy Lopez Breyer (as Black), where I will automatically be four or five tempi up.

You are wrong opening is the initial part of the game if you play incorrct opening u  may get into a some awkward position

Chess is all about

1.Good solid position at the opening

2.Playable middlegame

3.have ur king safeand good end game

so the game really depend upon the opening what u play bcoz that will get u into a playable position ...

If wrong sorry the above game was between me (1473) and opponent rated 1555

Popeye_Sailorman

Please post comments based only on the opening theory dont take a deep look at the game there may be flaws here and there bcoz im not a master at this openinng im learning this bcoz i got bored by e4 ....

im playing this for ther first time too

please be useful.............

You did well grabbing the two bishops...white usually prevents this by h3...You could have considered castling queenside - after due preparation - and nurture this long term asset....as it was you castled kingside with an open h file....which your opponent exploited.

(EDIT. Just realised you are white in the game and I wrote the comment thinking you were black. I'm an Anti Londoner so I always consider from the black perspective)

i like knights more than bishops

You're right, it's 100% tactics.

the worst part is when the opponent disconnects in a losing position

h3 should be played before Bf4 when black plays Nf6. White can then follow with c4-c5 to keep pressure on the h2-b8 diagonal. Sometimes the bishop on h2 is forgotten as it is not on the "correct" (h1-a8) diagonal.

I purposefully let black to take my bishop on g3, so that i can open the h file for attack. I like open files especially h and a files i thought black is  preparing for king side castle with bg7 fianchattoed and nf6 kind of that if he doesnt took my bishop. I could pawn storm his king by keeping my king at the center by pushing h g pawns

The London System sucks and is an opening for cowards.

I think Gata Kamsky would oppose your view A_Hole ;)

Against a Black fianchetto, White typically plays Bf1-e2 instead of Bf1-d3. For one, the bishop breaks annoying pins, but also it's blunted on the b1-h7 diagonal, and from e2 it can lend support to a potential h4-h5 (when White hasn't had to play h2xg3, that is).

Speaking of that, White also usually seeks to preserve the bishop with an early h2-h3.

I don't understand though why Black resigned in the final position. I may be missing something, but by my quick calculation, Black seems to come out a rook up. 23..Bxh6 24.Rxh6+ Kg7 25.Rh7+ Kf6 26.Rxd7 Bxc2 and both of White's minor pieces are threatened. Just a quick glance, but I'd have at least played on a bit as Black, regardless.
