so obviously i messed up the opening because i was kind of retarded, but how to deal with unexpected opennings like that?

@alexwithmalice, yeah taking on c5 wasnt the best move, but i was still fine after taking

just try to analyse it by yourself, or,read some chess books, it offers how to make opening and the response when the opening is declined in the game. for example like french defense has advance variation, the classical variation, the exchange variation, and tarrasch variation. those are named based the enemy response to our opening..

maybe you can play e3 after 4...c5, and other variation..

Besides, ...g5 is probably playable.

instead of cxd5 on move 3, just play d4 and transpose to a QGD. If you don't want to transpose to a QGD, play g3 instead of Nc3 on move 2 and play on from there.
