So like this? Opecensky Variation of the Sicilian Najdorf= 1.e4,c5,2.nf3,d6,3.d4,cxd4,4.nxd4,a6,5.be2
Names of Chess Openings.

What's the point? They could find the moves for an opening in a million places on the internet.
Much more valuable is if they can find an independent topic dedicted to indepth discussion of that opening.

the idea was to make chess.com a greater place to become a one-stop place to find central chess knowledge and yes a topic discussion areas of indepth game ideas and analysis is an awesome idea; you should get one underway.

the point is to put all the crazy names and the "classic" names of chess openings in one place; the fried liver, the rat, the monkeys bum, hippopotamus, the Scotch game, the Australian, the English, the French all in one place along with the moves. Of course the 'Whale' is such a "huge" name as well :)

@ crok, post 5 : a) there are no "crazy" names, just names; b) you will find at least 1327 named openings in the book The Oxford Companion to Chess, together with explanations; c) post 3, Godlike is right !
The Frankenstein-Dracula Variation is actually 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Bc4 Nxe4 4. Qh5 Nd6 5. Bb3 Nc6 6. Nb5 Stopping after 3... Nxe4 both sides have ways to avoid the variation which are actually very tame 5. Qxe5, 5.. Be7 etc... It might all be classified under the same name big opening manuels like ECO because they have classify every position in the book with a name, but it's not very accurate; it's like calling 4. Ng4 in the Two Knights the Fried Liver Attack.
Hello all; firstly let me say i love Chess.com, if you need to ask for reasons then simply you are not looking at all the things here at chess.com.
Now to business; i would like to start a forum place to become a one stop listing of every "named" chess opening that has a 'semi-official' title for that opening set of moves.
Please list the "openings name" and the 'moves' that are played along with an "official" 'reference' source so people can know here to find more information.
So let me start, lol ;)
Frankenstein–Dracula Variation of the Vienna game. moves = 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Bc4 Nxe4. reference = ECO: C27. or your could include a book title and page number as the source. The aim here is to create one place where all the internet search features will ultimately find the moves to "every" chess 'opening' in one convient place @ chess.com !!! Thanks...
