Nf3 Openings

Hi all,

I was wondering does anyone have suggestions for a solid 1.Nf3 opening?

Please post the name of them, and if possible their basic ideas.

That depens on what your opponent does against the Nf3. It can transpose in so many openings.

Yes, one thing to remember is that 1.Nf3 is very flexible for both sides. I have played the reti for a long time but i finally decided it was too difficult for me. Too many different pawn structures and subtle traspositions. I do not recommend it at your lever.

The King's Indian attack can transpose to the English, Catalan, French, and Sicilian, as well symmetrical King's Indian.

The KIA might be a decent proposal. Miracolous, it's true that B can react in various ways but W basic setup remain the same. 

Your forgetting Dutch. And he can also answer with c5 which either transposes in English or sicilian.

Be prepared to transpose into regular d4 and especially c4 lines. Khalifman's book on openings of Kramnik is a good resource on 1.Nf3.
