Omega Gambit

I was playing a game and accidentally made the move e4 after d4 and Nf6 (shown above). I was surprised to see that this position has a name, the "Omega Gambit". I played on the game and was wondering how good this opening really is. It seems to me like you give up the e pawn early and only really get slightly better development after Nxe4, Bd3, Nf6, Nf3. I assume that this opening isn't that good and there are a lot of better ways to play, but maybe I'm missing something. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this opening.
