*sigh* ... people not quite clear on the subject...

What is the point of "free computer analysis"?

You do realize that there are over 318 BILLION ways to play just the first four moves in chess? A computer can tell you what move you should have played... in some position that you'll probably never see again even if you live to be 120 years old. What possible use is THAT to anyone?

The point of analyzing your games it to teach you how to THINK about positions, and how to look for the right move. It's the PROCESS that's important... not some random computer-suggested move in some random chess position that you'll never see again.

Use your own brain when analyzing. That way, you are teaching yourself how to find good moves.

For a great many players, the engine is used to AVOID thinking, not to stimulate it. It is very often used as a crutch rather than as a lever.

I feel that engines help a relatively small number of people, and hinder the majority.

This thread:

GM Larry Evans' method of static analysis

.. will probably tell you more about how to assess a position and find the correct plan than a HUNDRED "free analysis" web-sites could.

hello, this is asertyuio.

If the website was removed from viewing by chess.com, can you post it maybe without characters such as period or slash?

then post again saying where those symbols would go?

thanks

I think you are missing the point too.

First, an engine is useful in complementing your own analysis and pointing out where you were wrong. It's easy to make a mistake when you analyze a game, and engines are much better at tactics than any human.

Second, free computer analysis is available to anyone as the best engine (Stockfish) is free. I don't know what that suspicious website is offering, but it sounds like a scam.

How do i post games?

Avatar of Deuce424

if you look at the top bar when writing, there is a chessboard.

from here, click the chessboard and select what you want to do. After you play a game, there will be a share button somewhere on the screen.

Avatar of Deuce424

from there, select the "pgn or fen" tab and copy the pgn. go to the chessboard and paste the pgn. Then press "add game(s)".
