one-move checkmate

Is there such a thing as a one-move checkmate!?

If so please share it!

If not please post your closest to none move checkmate!

there is none, the fastest possible mate is 2 moves

i have seen that are there any others?

if you're playing black, it's a little trickier:

only the 2-move mate is possible, & it is known as FOOL'S MATE..

To attack (a chess opponent's king) in such a manner that no escape or defense is possible, thus ending the game.

  so technically if you take the king, it would be something other than checkmate.

black resign is a win (no point win but win) but is not a one move checkmate!

I wouldn't reccommend 2. ...Qh4??# for Black in the first diagram. You shouldn't bring out your Queen so fast. ;)

2. move is the only possible mate in the opening!

i always liked the "you give me seven moves, i give u seven pieces"
