How to get annotated chess games of a specific opening (for ex. The Scotch Game, Alapin Sicilian) to build an understanding of plans in that system so that there is improvement in my approach? I have read the book 'Best Lessons of a Chess Coach' by S. Weeramantry. I am looking for that kind of stuff because this book is very helpul but only 10 games are not enough.

Please post the links if possible.

Thanks

There are lots of annotated games online. Or buy an app like Chessmaster, it comes with 900 annotated games. Then make a database of the games you need. Or buy books on your opening of choice. Or perhaps best of all have a strong player/coach annotate your own games in that opening.

For introductions to specific openings, targeted primarily to the beginner-intermediate level player readership, Everyman Chess publishes the popular "Starting Out" and the "Move By Move" series of books.  Within these series you will find many books each dedicated to a specific opening with many annotated games.  Similarly, Gambit Publications has their "Chess Explained..." series of introductory openings books, in which the material is presented in annotated games format, and are very good.  Finally, many (though not necessarily all) of the openings books published by New In Chess, are in the complete, annotated games format.

The Starting-Out and Chess-Explained books seem to have been discontinued, although many of them are still readily available and possibly helpful. Everyman has recently been publishing some books in a First Steps series.

I best like the most recent c3 (Alapin) Sicilian the book I've seen, Sveshnikov's The Complete c3 Sicilian, the Alapin Variation by its greatest expert c.2010 which is a massive 574 pages.  It is filled with many complete extremely annotated games plus some fragments (plus lots of "what's the best move" quizzes with related positions at the end of each of the two major parts with answers in the back).  Each major part (2...d5, 2...Nf6) has a 16 and 12 page section on general plans before it jumps into the games.

For the c3 (Alapin) Sicilian, I also like John Emms Starting Out: the c3 Sicilian c.2008.  There is less on planning and no quizzes as in Sveshnikov's book, but the explanations are a little clearer.  It contains a decent number of very educating, well-annotated games in its 207 pages.
