I guess that if you are capable of mastering it the nimzo indian is a wonderful defense, and so rich that you can find both aggressive imbalancing lines as well as solid ones in it. The benoni might be an alternative but i wouldn't drop an already prepared nimzoindian for it.

I've come to find out that the openings are the basis for weather your middle game will be good or bad. My question is what openings for black against d4 give black good attacking chances as well as a playable position. I've recently been studying the nimzo indian defense and had good results so far. I guess I want an opening that has many imbalances right away
