Brian,
I just thought you might like this game from the Irish Championship.
We are all baking here in University of Limerick with temperatures soaring to 90F - unheard of in Ireland.
It's even hotter in the playing

Brian Wall is an enigma. He comes up with this great theory line against the Ponziani yet he knows only a little about main line theory of that opening.
[This is a compliment-not a put down]
He also plays the Ponziani and likes the Ponziani. Also, he is very open re his own games. More power to him!
If I play an opening I am motivated to study it but the reverse isn't true.
Once you let go of your fear of losing the Chess universe immediately opens its arms to you.
I'm not saying its great but I can't find
1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 c3 d5 4 Qa4 f6 5 Bd3 anywhere.
Anyone have any references?
Here's a link to the results of the preliminary and finals of the first United States Correspondence Chess Championship.

Speaking of wikipedia. There is something about me under david taylor chess. Someone from chess.com and also from wikipedia contacted me and asked for some of my games and a photo to add to what they have.
I was suspicious and yes it turned out to be another imposter. No harm done.
This guy who recently came on this site to rant and rave also apparently another imposter--someone who gets an additional membership [I think I know who he was]
Then a funny thing happened to me yesterday in 15 minute chess. I was playling someone named maggie something and she was saying this is cool. [talking about this kind of chess] she says she is youngest female master and now has a title of WFM and she says [if it is a she] she is only 8 years old. [is there such a person]
I was winning and she asked if I would give her a draw [after she had asked who I was] and I said sure and gave her a draw.
If this was a sort of imposter also no matter I enjoyed.
Question for FirebrandX. Did you get rating credit for your results in the preliminary section of the USCCC?
In the past the top players often elected to play in APCT as for example they did not want to go through 3 rounds of 6 games to win 18 in a row to win the Golden Knights. I later played two winniers of the Golden Knights.
My bad luck [continued from USCF Bad luck] was many of my prelims games were not counted as ratings. For example my score of 10 1/2 1 1/2 in the first prelims. Also while playing in the 7th USCC Finals I was also playing in the 8th prelims and qualified for the 8th Finals and those games were not rated. [I do not think they were but could be wrong]
Today in money bridge 3 grandslams vulnerable were bid and made against me and nothing I could do
[sad stories from an oldtimer]
I felt like Black could have continued if he had to but I am satisfied with my first Fraser Defense result.

Keep in mind I played down the main line for the purposes of theory. I would never actively play the Ponzi, much less this line.
Brian - Let's see if anyone else can do better.
This is a line that I have already posted on BrianWallChess@Yahoogroups.com so I was very comfortable.
However there are many more unclear variations, the jury is still out.
I thank you for letting me practice our line.
I wanted to notch a solid result before trying for a win.
In both games I would choose different moves a second time.
I guess you could say we were both satisfied with a draw.
One game doesn't prove everything but I think it is a good start.
can we have the moves of the game? [or is it already published?]
Here's the game, and please note that every move I played after 12.Qd5 was forced after black's response (in order to keep from losing):
How do you draw against 1500?
How do you draw against 1500?
Whatever I don't know how you got 2300 in the first place. Instead of going back to d5 with your queen you could have tried Qa6 to refrain the bishop from taking when your knight should have went to d4, since Qxf6 Bxf6 Kxf2
To the credit of FirebrandX he had independently suggested the two-piece sac on Chess.com before I revealed I had played the line for years.

For FirebrandX
I appreciate the game, I believe it will send huge ripples throughout the Ponziani Pond. To me it wasn't a personal contest, I was just curious if Houdini could bust it.

Brian is a LNM, which either stands for a Lifetime National Master, or a Lemon Nut Muffin, not sure which. Either way, he doesn't have a legit rating here,
