Yes, letting the b pawn drop with 11...bnb-d7 was suspicious, and white is probably winning with 140.,0 instead of 14Ne5.
Earlier 6...c6 is not really necessary. 6...Nb-d7 then h6, Bh4 and c5 if Kramnik's revival of the old classical line. It is explained very nicely in the quality chess book on 1d4.d5, and probably other recent books on this line. This book does cover h6, and c6 too, so don't c6 is terrible, Similarly 7...a6 is not really a necessary move. In the resulting "Carlsbad structure" after cxd5 black is still pretty solid.
