Queens Gambit against Slav

hi,

Recently i'm meeting the response to my QG as 1. ..d5 2. ..c6 in the declined line (i like the Slav and Caro defences as Black) and i'm looking for a sharp response - it usually just turns into a battle for development.

So does anybody know a good retort to the slav in the QGD?

Just play reasonably:

1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Nc3 dxc4 5.a4 ...

There can't be anything really wrong with playing main lines, especially as we learn an opening.

DrawMaster gave you some good advice.  In answer to your question:

Play 3 Nc3 and your opponent might sharpen it for you.

1 d4 d5 2 c4 c6 3 Nc3 e5

and

1 d4 d5 2 c4 c6 3 Nc3 e6 4 e4

are both sharp.

It is always going to be "a battle for development."
