Should I choose King's gambit as my main opening as white?

No, you should play something like the Italian Game instead. You can try it of course if it's just for fun, but I wouldn't recommend it for competitive, since it's not easy to play for white... the Italian is much more suitable for your level.

Yes yes yes. If you don't keep the initiative you will lose so you are forced to look for tactics and attacking plans. This will help you improve this area of your game IMO. Much more fun than plodding through Italian games yawn.

Ill invite you to a dailtgame and you be white for the kings gammit and ill play black....
Would you like to play the kings gammit with me? Ill accept it., please dont cry if u loose.

For gods sake, why do you have this personal vendetta against this opening? And why do you think playing a player with a far lower rating proves anything?

Your 900 points above him. You could play 1.a3 and still win!

I'm not trying to talk down to you, I'm pretty close to your rating myself

I don't know how to answer your question, I play the King's gambit...I win, I lose...but the one thing I can tell you if you are seeking answers from a Troll pit like Chess.com, you are boned before you even begin....

Personnally, i began with playing gambits like :
king's gambit, evans gambit, danish gambit.
Probably after seing/studying immortal and evergreen games, and because i felt initiative was very important in the opening and in the game in general.
Max Lange attack, scotch gambit, Giuoco Piano with c3-d4 (as Greco analyzed it), where also my cup of tea, because they sound natural to me (taking action for centre and again initiative, but we could say the same for king's gambit and Evans).
Just play like u feel, that's the most important thing.
I had great results, i learnt attacking play, and really, up to world top level, almost nobody is able to refute most of these gambits (which are not refuted though, maybe danish but not sure...).

can we please play a game on the daily??? You white , me black and ill accept your kings gammit! ill be amazed if u can win!! Mabye ull change perspective on how i see this really bad opening for white ... ill send you a play request and well do it.
Now that's a good way to do it. Two high rated players both familiar with the opening

I'm a Ruy Lopez player yet I believe the king's gambit is a good opening.
Care to challenge me to a correspondence chess game (1 day per move) where I'm white and I play kings gambit?

I say give it a go. You'll learn a lot - especially about defending and initiative! Play over some Bronstein games and some Spassky games. Those will give you a great feel for the opening.

I can prove otherwise.
Name one line that gives black more than equality.
