Sicilian Defense Variations

The Najdorf is the variation i learned first and it really thought me alot. Whatever you choose i would say dont neglect looking at the other variations (briefly). There are different pawn structures each that have their own right. The world of sicilian is great and best of luck with it Ajfonty.
By the way, Kasparov has a series of DVD`s on the Najdorf. If he cant teach you how to play it, nobody can! I have one of the series and its quite good. Think about what resources you can get on each variation and im pretty sure the najdorf has some pretty good books on it.

Try Caro-Kan (not a sicilian opening) 1.e4 c6. I've played this opening as well. It is pretty useful when you know your opponents way of play.
Hey everyone.
I have been playing chess seriously for the past year now, and I wish to venture into the realm of the Sicilian as black. I was wondering, however, which variation is best for a player first trying out the defense. I was looking at many (Najdorf, Sveshnikov, Dragon, etc.) but I am not sure which to study. I don't want to buy books for each, rather trying to specify in one at this moment.
Which variation would you reccomend?
