Some simple opening for a mini-tournament

Hi guys, I think next week I'm going to organize a tournament here on Chess.com with some friends of mine.

there sould be 6 or 7 of us, all beginner players.

I usually try to play Ruy-Lopez or Giuoco Pianissimo when I play white and to defend myself as I can when I play black.

I think this would be a good chance to try something new... what do you recommend?

(probably one of the opponent will play a Dunst opening)

thanks,

bye

Kings Indian Attack is pretty simple. Not much theory.

Thanks for the suggestion...

I'm taking a look at that... isn't it too much "defensive"?

I've also read that it could become easily "uncomfortable" if black responds with uncommon moves... and it is a situation that ofter occurs while playing with beginners.........

Any other idea?

Four knights opening is relatively simple compared to most openings, or the petrov defense

Center pawn and let it rip.

lol!

Four knights opening could be an idea....

Petrov's defence is more a black's responce than a white's opening, so I think there's no way to decide to play it in advance..

Thanks a lot!

Dude, you can try the London system, it is quite solid and good, you just set up your position and then start playing, or the stonewall,

try the stonewall it rox for white unless against accurate play in which case it's about equal its anti comp too

I found some information and also a good video about the London system and I think I'll give it a chance!

What is the stonewall?

Where can I get some explanation?
