My opinion is it is MUCH better to be pretty good at both than to be really good at one at the expense of the other.
For example, the great Bisguier once said that in a simul he lets his fingers move, because if he starts to think then his brain just gets in the way. Translation: make the move that looks best. [Positional]
Then again, Tal and Kasparov are/were excellent tacticians. All the top players say that chess is 100% about tactics.
So yeah, you can play using just one or just the other, but really you need both.
this forum is about whos better and i am here to say positional players are better because like a friend of mine told the best tactics come out of a positional position. Thus positional players are both tactical and positional so they own what is your opinion?
