doesn't seem like a lot of people play c5, but if someone does, it sure is common!

interesting...

I like it but what if the opponent doesn't fall for it? wouldn't you just have a worse position?

Avatar of NobleElevator

ry can you make a full line with this in a blog post, it's actually super super interesting(mostly because everyone falls for this) 0.o

What on earth do you mean white is just slightly better if black plays something like d6 over exd5

wait really

can you give like the full line(that goes to middlegame) because if this actually is good even if they don't fall for it I'll eagerly make this my opening v c5

@melvinbluestone - After 17. ..b5! white can limit the damage with 18. Bxc5! which will be followed by 18. ..bxc4 (18. ..Qxc5+? 19. Qxc5 Bxc5+ 20. Nxc5 wins a pawn for white)  19. Bxe7 Bxe7 20. Nxd8 and when black recaptures he's got two minor pieces for a rook - far less than a whole piece.

Obviously, your opponent didn't find that move, but you should be mindful of it.
