Larry Kaufman in his excellent series "The Chess Advantage in Black and White" (first edition) also recommended this NF3 system.
Actually there are two more parts to that series or maybe three, available on IChess.net. It's a great series--Bryan Smith covers a lot of wild lines. In some of them, Black sacks up to 3 or 4 pieces and still gets a winning attack. I'll have to go watch it again to remember some of the ideas, but in general the Nf3 lines are fighting, fun, and sound, but you do have to know what you're doing.
GM Bryan Smith published an excellent video on handling the Scandanavian. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMd4op5DG_g
