I've been trying out the Panov attack as white against the Caro-Kann, which I've been enjoying. But I just finished a game as white trying similar ideas against the French and accidentally stumbled into the Monte Carlo variation. On move 4 in both positions, when white plays c4, the only difference is a single black pawn placement.:
