The_Gavinator, this is an opening i have had great success with against the cicillian but the problem is it doesnt work if they play 2. e6 which is why i am still considering the Waite-Harrison(QSFL).
What is better; Parham or Queenside Fried Liver
nyLsel Im sorry, i dont currently know what the name is. And, The_Gavinator thats funny because i won easily.
to be honest I don't think that opening promises anything for white. He gets 2 pawns for the bishop, but black should be able to develop freely and eventually get his king to safety.

Come on, this is totally stupid, and white is lost. He has given up a piece for two pawns, and he will even end up being back in development (his queen is exposed).
IM pfren good joke, whites development is much better and blacks king is exposed, white has a clear advantage. The_Gavinator I destroyed you in mental chess with this opening. But, this doesnt matter because we are trying to decide what is better, the parham or Waite-Harrison(qsfl).
I disagree. The parham involves the white queen moving to an exposed location where the queen will be forced to lose a tempo. This violates the opening principle that you should not develop your queen too early where it can be kicked with tempo. However, while the waite-harrison is not an ambitious opening, it does not violate any opening principles because it simply puts the knight and bishop on natural squares. The disadvantage is that the pawn may not move to c4 as in the queens gambit.
CHCL please give a reason why they are bad dont just say something is bad because it looks beginnerish even though it isnt. xitvono thanks for your input.

Easy. I will try to explain. The parham is bad because (you have probably herd this a million times)
1.The Queen is developed for no good reason
2.Black will have an easy time developing
3.White has no hope of an advantage; has no plan
I will explain the QSFL later, am late for something.

The queen is developed for pressure and if you played it you will see that black has a difficult time developing when black is being attacked, which is white's plan.
Even in main line of the parham white has blacks kingside opened up and an equal, if not better position than black.

What lines give white pressure and open up Black's Kingside? There are none. I am just trying to say that this is bad, it just promises no advantage for white.

I'd go for an early Qd4. That way if they want to do the dragon, you can win their rook, so it will take them out of book and a queen in the center is aggressive/well posted.
With better moves by black:
I believe that wafflemaster was talking about these lines, and I commend him for being the only person as good at chess as I am.

Did I get the sarcastic tone of whatupyodog correct? At least I tried .
On a side note, I can't tell what is more annoying, whatupyodog calling everyone garbage or vlad telling everyone that doesn't agree with them that they are trolls who should shut up.
They both think they are better at chess than everyone though...
When the annotations and comments (like post #15) call an opening "an automatic win" it's a good guess they're just having some fun :p
