smh Sampson I see you have converted into a mindless anti Gotham fan sad 😞. Best anti Sicilian is Alapin imo. Rossolimo is a close second

lol ok bro

You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the mindless anti gotham fans, not join them! Bring balance to the opening forums community, not dump it with mindless anti Gotham vibe!

You underestimate my theory!

Delayed Alapin better tho

Yeah. Well I mean, you can play an open Sicilian repertoire against d6 and e6 and play Rossolimo against nc6 to avoid the Sveshnikov. That’s what GM Gajewski recommends in his LTR

That’s my repertoire against the Sicilian lol

I’ll say, I really like my new repertoire compared to constantly spamming the Closed Sicilian, an opening I didn’t actually like anyway

pleewo

That’s good that you like it. I’m probably about to start playing open Sicilian regularly as my main weapon against the Sicilian and I think I might want to avoid the Sveshnikov

pleewo

It really is fr.

pleewo

ye fair enough. But a majority of people will play the Sveshnikov prolly. You could try the early Nd5 move Fabi played against Magnus in the WC but it isn’t very strategically pleasing because you are giving away your strategical advantages

SIMPLY -- Don't play 1) e4; and you save yourself from the deluge of theory in this opening.

I used to play Alapin, and bought 2-3 books on same. But why bother? Play ANY reversed black opening with the white pieces, (except the English) and you have effectively "sidestepped" all the opening prep of your "Sicilian-loving-opponent." Nuff Said?

Saving yourself lots of "study time" is NOT rocket science. It's EASILY said and done.

@kindaspongey, your recommendations are great! I'm

looking for some material for Delayed Alapin, with 2.Nf3

followed by 3. c3.

However, I couldn't find material, most give an example

and jump to the most famous anti-sicillians lines.

Would you have any suggestions ?

Opening sicilian is the best to play against the sicilian tbh. I mean you can play the alipin and things like that but the open is the best and easiest to learn, as almost every line in it is similar

The Open, despite being the best, isn’t easy to learn and there are a lot of tricks and traps you need to avoid. Natural development isn’t an option, because if you make one mistake, your opponent’s gonna run you over. Even seemingly good moves can be refuted.

The Alapin is by far easier.

i disagree, the open is basically standard development and just avoiding common opening mistakes

Best anti sicilians:
Against nc6 sicilian, rossolimo
Against d6 sicilian, moscow (with an immediate a4 against the move nd7), checkhover and/or prins sicilian
Against e6 sicilians the westerinen attack is an useful weapon
Those are options in 2. Nf3
In 2. Nc3 you can play tiviakov against nc6 (aka closed rossolimo)
Magnus sicilian against 2. D6 ( 1. E4 c5 2. Nc3 d6 3. D4 cxd4 4. Qxd4 nc6 5. Qd2, with the idea of fianchettoing The bishop on c1 via b3)
Against e6 you can try playing the move d4 , after qxd4 nc6, qd3 with the idea of playing bf4 and long castling next

@CaioR_BR play like this:

Alchessblitz

When we play with Black the most annoying are I find the Rossolimo (or 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3. Bb5+) and Maroczy system.
