White: Ruy Lopez, London system, or the King's gambit as white
Black: Caro-kann(against e4), Dutch(against d4), King's Indian(against anything else)

Nice! I think Scandinavian is very flexible as a defense.

I am a huge fan of the Scotch. I’m yet to learn the Gambit, but I recommend it to those who like a straightforward opening.

I have one simple question.
Although we may open the game with a particular named opening, how are we sure that the opponent replies the same return moves as discussed in the chess book. One must be ready for random play by the opponent.
My philosophy is as white or black always start/reply with pk4 or pq4. This gives enough scope for controlling the center and helps to build the opening moves and middle game leading to a possible plan for an attack.
London system for white, and caro kann for black
Englund gambit?
