Hi Tom, I can not give a good answer, but I am learning KID myself these days, and have got 7 strong players to play d4 to take KID match with me. I can play d4 KID games with you, rehearsing, white or black, rated or not. Online 3 days.

If you don't even know all the main variations, you aren't ready for the King's Indian Defense.  It's highly theoretical, and looking at your rating, you should be playing more classical defenses that work off general principles, like 1...d5 against 1.d4 and 1...e5 against 1.e4.

Just to show you how much torture the King's Indian Defense is, I'm just going to spout out names of variations you haven't mentioned, and not give the moves, just to demonstrate the amount of research and torture you have to go thru to play it:

Averbakh Varation
Four Pawns Attack
Bayonet Attack
Hungarian Variation
Petrosian Variation
Makogonov System
Gligoric Variation
Seirawan Variation

And by the way, you say you can't find resources?  Here's a bajillion optons:

I am aware there is the classical, saemisch and fianchetto setups for white, but what else can they play? I know they can play exchange variation but few do this. I also know a lot about the smyslov as my friend plays it against me!

I cannot find any resource on this, maybe I am looking in the wrong place? Any help appreciated with possible lines or some information.

Depends on your ability level.  Beginners shouldnt play the KID, due to the highly theoretical nature of the opening.

Based on what i see from your games, you should start with something simpler.  1.e4 1.d4 - learn the basics of those openings: contro lthe center, develop towards the center, castle, connect your rooks.

I have been playing the kid for decades and I can tell you it still aint easy ! Good luck with it if you stick with it . ThrillerFan is right that you are likely better off taking up a more classical defense to 1 d4  at your level .
