Where did I go wrong here?

bxc5 is where the wheels came off.

3...d5 is fine.

4...cxd4 or ...Nc6 look best.  But even 4...b6, if you then follow up 5.dxc5 with ...Bxc5 6.Qxd5 Qe7+ 7.Ne2 Bb7.  And of course if 6.Bxd5, you have potential for a modest trap where you allow BxR, then follow with ...Bf2+, nabbing the queen (and a pawn) for a piece and a rook.

Bg4 looks interesting after 7 Bxd5

the light bishop is usually more powerful for white, try a light square bishop trade but KhaoSan is correct bxc5 is the problem

I think you mean Bxd5

I don't agree with 3...d5.  Just capture 3..cxd like you normally would in an Open Sicilian, and look for opportunities to profit from the early inclusion of Bc4 and ..e6.  e.g. You could play ..Qc7 earlier than you normally would, which would gain a tempo on the bishop, or play ..a6 threatening to hit it with ..b5.

5...b6 is an error. Black should have played 5...c4 and after 6.Ba4+
Black has either 6...Bd7 or 6...Nc6. The move Bd7 exchanges off
the bad Black B for the good White B. White could also take the
lazy N after 6...Nc6. In a lot of game situations the Queens N does
not participate in the game and it is best to trade it. This was
discussed by GM David Bronstein and by my friend IM Gerard
Welling.

6...Bxc5 looked okay but of course the earlier 3...cxd4 is probably best.
