Flohr Mykanos variation of the English is very exciting for white

Hello, talfan, and thank you for the suggestion.  Can you please give me the moves for this variation.  I have tried to google search it, and I am unsuccessful in finding any information about it.  Thanks again.

The Bongcloud! No discussion!

When i play against the kings gambit, I just play and early e6 and h6 and all their sacrifices and tricks don't work. I simply keep the pawn.

yes, of course.  you need to develop your king.  I wonder why none of the other openings have king development...

I buy them a drink as they will need it before the game ends!

Hey they do not need to be aware as they were not aware when they picked it. This way they can still enjoy the game.

tjdiem hi look up Tal v Sossonko Wijk aan Zee 1976 for flohr mikenas (correct spelling this time sorry)

tjdiem

ok, thank you Laughing

line goes e4 knf6, knc3 e6 e4  ideas are white aims for d4 advance supported by a knight at f3 to create a 3 pawn centre

My calculus teacher played the scotch gambit with great success in highschool, but I prefer queen's gambit.

I play King's Gambit myself, but Black can avoid the lines that have a strong White initiative.

The Smith-Morra, on the other hand, once accepted, gives White a lasting initiative and some positional plus in return for the pawn, and Black doesn't have a way to balance it -- there's no obvious "return of material" tactic available.

Smith-morra seems interesting...

Eh whats it called again........oh yeah, the scotch gambit. That one can give ya a nice attack

tjdiem

yeah, thank you chasm and trapper.. I am highly considering the Scotch.

NOTE: this does not mean that I am not considering any other gambit... I am still open to suggestion

I think it would have to be the King's Gambit.

I've never really considered playing the kings gambit. it seems ok... maybe i'll give it a try

Wasn't the King's Gambit refuted or am I mistaken?
