Ruy Lopez. +20=1-2 record as White with it here. (Also have scored +10=1-3 from the Black side.)
YOUR best opening.
I have to say as white Best and most played opening is the King's Gambit. As black, agains e4 it is The French, then against anything else I transpose it into the Nimzo-Indian. Very Classical as white, very Hypermodern as black... except against e4. Sometimes you just have to fight fire with fire!
I like the Scotch game or the Evans Gambit for white.
As Black, I play e5 or the Nimzo-Indian.(or any type of Indian Defence)
I'm best with the Italian as white, the Sicilian Najdorf as black against 1. e4, and the Nimzo-Indian as black against 1. d4.
Queen's gambit, Karlsbad Variation, which is characterized by the pawn structure formed after an early exchange on d5, as follows:
Usually, white's strategy is to push b4 and b5 and create a weakness in the form of either a backward pawn on c6 or an isolated pawn on d5, depending on black's choice. Black usually aims for play on the kingside.
