We are all familiar with GM Rogelio Antonio JR, a.k.a gm joey. Aside from being a real life Filipino top chess player, he now regularly plays on the live chess.com server. So what is it that makes us all like him, even though he plays practically everyday. The thing with Joey is that he loves the game, he doesn't want to beat someone or get points, he wants to do it in style. His exciting style of play has intrigued us all, as we watch in awe how he outdoes himself everytime, whether that means check mating someone with less than a second remaining, or finding a way to win while being significantly down on time. Hikaru Nakamura himself was left stunned when Joey beat him 2-1. Mr Nakamura must have forgotten that you simply never underestimate Joey. One of the reasons we like him, is that he play the all - in chess. He plays with a very attacking style, and he doesn't avoid sacrificing few pieces. Out of this world combinations always make us want to see more of his games. Plus, his trash talk and the excitement of the chat during his games are unmatched. Joey uses very open chess tactics. He doesn't close games and use premoves to beat his opponents. When Joey sacrifices, I personally have very little doubt how the game will end. Joey himself accepts friend requests, and chats with people. He has some good humorous way of expressing himself. With this I am gonna leave you now. VIVA GM Joey!
