2nd best active Player after Magnus?

Magnus is undeniably the best active player.
Who do you think is the 2nd and/or 3rd best player and why?

I'd say Fabiano is a pretty easy obvious choice, but he has been in a bit of a down ward slump over the last couple of months. Ding Liren is another who comes to mind.

Exciting that nobody has mentioned Firouzja yet.

I think there is no clear second best. There are a dozen guys who are roughly equal, most of them were number 2 at some point in the past. None of them is a serious threat to Magnus, except probably Alireza.
