Average elo for a 12 year old is 200.

Average elo for a 12 year old playing chess is 1000?

It's interesting to see how many comments degrade into various versions of "Divide by zero" or infinity etc. It's nice and enjoy that these comments aren't entirely insane (though I guess if they were, I wouldn't even understand it/them? - *places that idea on a (hopefully available) "backburner" somewhere to mull over and contemplate later)

... As far as I know, the average "Tournament rated player" should average 1000. Every 400 points differences between players should represent a 3 to 1 ratio of winnings ... I admit that such is simply a rough stastistic, and if some is curious, Yes, it could be possible that some players are particularly more adept or weak against some other players.

... so let's just *quickly presses forward to the conclusion* Yes, congrats and high fives ... reaching 1200 as a rated (tournament) player IS an accompliment. In fact, it is great that you have helped verify that even 12 year olds are still playing and that some of them might be new world champions, though I admit having heard and generally felt that likely someone who might later became something close to a World Champion in Chess ... I must admit that a rating of 1200 at 12 years old would seem a wild / lucky "shot in the dark". In fact, to be honest, as an interesting idea (which I would SERIOUSLY NOT encourage you to persue) ... if you ever ended up being a World Champion (adds a ton of fine print ... "Within the next 2 decades" etc. etc.)

That would be rather amazing (from my perspective).

Honestly, I wish you the best. You are and will always remain awesome .... if you were to ask why, well it would simply be because you are similar or have elements of myself happy.png

You are fine, Sir happy.png Best wishes forever. Thank you. Great question and I have enjoyed the inspiration. Have fun! Feel free to do all the things a 12 year old boy might do. You are ok, not that you needed it to be affirmed.

Congratulations, "Young Sir" ... I heard you (and you remain beautiful) happy.png Nature can use everything and all things are useful and beneficial for the collective growth.

I understand that this reply may not be understood or coherent for you etc. .... it's is ok. We are all fine happy.png

Best wishes, Sir

Here's a scene from the movie "August Rush" .... *offers a plastic ribbon in thanks* ... what is it worth? Maybe you can decide that for yourself happy.png Again, Thank you

P.S. Thank you for the restrains ... the baby is still sleeping *hugs* nervous.png

We are all ok (and yes, we could question that a hundren million + times etc. ... but why?)

He's ok

I was just thinking that maybe I should apologize to the "original poster" ... and that term even seems disrespectful.

I am limited in my abilities ... in fact even though I am supposedly ~56 years old now and was introduced to with my father when I was maybe 7 years old or so ... You could likely win against me at an age of 12. happy.png

*hugs* You will always remain beautiful ... move or not, if you well or poor, it is all ok, and alll I have are words and yes, likely none of this will make sense to you (deep sigh - and that is ok as well).

*hugs* and Best Wishes from "Everything" happy.png You are forever beautiful (for better or worse, and that is ok as well)

Yes, 1200 at 12 years of age IS an accomplishment ... I would like to offer you more than a plastic ribbon as an award, but I also believe you understand happy.png Thank you.

Ok, have fun in all cases of your life, Chess or not (failures are ok as well wink.png )

Hasta and it has been a pleasure to meet you happy.png Until ... whenever.

So what is the average elo because my rating keeps going up by 30 points a day. My ego is 850 but I keep beating 1300 plus in tournaments, and my accuratcy is always 88percent to 94.So is chess.com's rating system off?

My rating here seems to be quite variable. I am much better at slower paced games and might have even been able to hit 1200 (it was close), but in terms of the faster games, my rating says I'm about 800.

As a 12 year old player, I don't know. My father taught me some chess when I was young and I played rather well (quite likely over 1000-1100 or so), but that was as a teenager and I don't know what ab average rating of a 12 year old might have.

I assume it probably depends upon the individual and what things 'they' or 'you' tend to be proficient at.

I ALSO believe that, if you happen to decide that you want to be awesome at Chess, then yes, likely you can, but my guess is that there are also some things that someone might have natural aptitudes towards.

Good luck, whatever direction(s) you decide to pursue in life. My guess is you will do fine 🤗👍

... and hey, though I never truly surfed on a surfboard, I was probably close to doing it, but it didn't really matter much, I still loved the fun playing out at the beach!

"Hang 10" and best wishes. Maybe see you 'out there' somewhere🏄🏄🤗
